Kerrie Canning and Cheryl Disher are the Co-Founders and Owners of HR Advice Online, a very successful HR Advisory and Consulting service, started in 2011. The business supports thousands of Australian businesses with all things HR.
Kerrie has always had a passion for horse racing, so it was inevitable that Kerrie and Cheryl would put their heads together to develop a business that focusses on women in horse racing.
Kerrie's grandfather was a jockey and it appears she is the one in her family that inherited the horse racing gene. Kerrie is a member of Melbourne Racing Club and in 2014 took the plunge into horse ownership via a syndicate with Darren and Liz Dance from Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock (ATB).
Her colt, Silver Stratum, made his debut in 2016 and has gone on to have 5 wins and 8 places which is a fabulous result.
The thrill of watching your horse run is so exciting - regardless of where they place. The experience when they win feels like you've just run the Melbourne Cup!
Kerrie regularly attends race meetings around Australia and has had the pleasure of attending the Hong Kong Races in December and Kentucky Derby in May, as well as Royal Ascot in June of 2018.
Cheryl is an absolute newbie to thoroughbred horse racing, with her closest encounter attending the infamous Albury Cup, well not quite true, shes also been to the Mornington Cup. Cheryl brings her extensive business experience to Women's Racing and if it makes sense to her, it will also make sense to the women out there who want to learn about this thing called horse racing.
"I'll admit that I'm looking forward to being involved in the development of the learning series to help other women understand what has typically been a world without a looking glass."
